Distance/Geography Elwood is a suburb in
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 8 km south from Melbournes central
business district. Its Local Government Area is the City of Port
Phillip. At the 2006 Census, Elwood had a population of
13,785.
Residential Elwood is known for its mix of Victorian
mansions, Edwardian cottages, Interwar apartment buildings. Infill
development in recent decades has changed the character of the
suburb, however some examples still remain.
