Just further east along Oxford Street from Darlinghurst is the suburb of Paddington. Known for its terrace apartments with wrough iron lace balconies and leafy streets, the suburb is worth exploring for its Victorian era ambience and character.

You can find interesting antique shops here, as well as numerous small art galleries featuring the works of upcoming and established artists.

Elizabeth St and the Five Ways are two places worth visiting in Paddington. On the Five Ways there are three streets that cross Glenmore Road and is lined with buildings that date from the 1800s and the beginning of the last century. There are some great sidewalk cafés here, serving excellent coffees.

Elizabeth St has decorator and other speciality shops as well as antique shops and cafés.

Oxford St Paddington

Oxford St, continuing on from Hyde Park in the city, past Darlinghurst flows along through the east side of Paddington. This busy street, has plenty on offer for visitors. A stop at the Max Brenner Chocolate Bar is ever popular for its many chocolate delights.

It is also a place to start a pub crawl to the city. Pubs along the way, all having been there a long time are not far between on your way to the city can make for an entertaining evening. Of course, we, like the pubs, encourage responsible drinking.

Centennial Park

This park is accessible here from Oxford St. A large park that falls within the areas covered by Waverley, Randwick and City of Sydney Councils, the park was dedicated as Centennial Park in 1888 by Sir Henry Parkes who was later to play a key role in the inauguration of the Australian Federation, held here in 1901.

Originally designed as Victorian tradition style park with formal gardens, ponds, statues and wide avenues for horse carriages and buggies, it also has a wide variety of Australian flora and fauna, grasslands and woodlands.

You can also go horseriding, play sports and rent bicycles to explore the park. Picnics, long idle walks, dogs (under control) families and kids are all welcome here.

Paddington Markets

On the weekend, one of the best markets to visit in Sydney is held on saturdays next to the Paddington Village Uniting Church. Paddington Bazaar, as it is called, offers everything from designer clothes from upcoming designers, to tasty snacks and bargains of all kinds.

Exploring

You can have fun exploring the many leafy, windy streets of Paddington. Lined with 2 and 3 storey terrace homes of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, there is actually a interesting variety in the kinds of terraces that were designed and built.

Some have towers, some obviously date to the very beginning of the suburb and some are very grand in size. For anyone interested in historical architecture, Paddington in Sydney is a must see.

Interspersed in amongst this are historical pubs (try one of the pub meals) and art galleries, making for an enjoyable afternoon.</p>

Docklands (also known as Melbourne Docklands to differentiate it from London Docklands) is an inner city suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia occupying an area extending up to 2 km west of and adjacent to Melbourne's Central Business District (CBD). Distance/Geography: Croydon is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 27 km east from Melbourne's central business district. Its Local Government Area is the City of Maroondah. At the 2006 Census, Croydon had a population of 22,029.
Commercial: Main Street Croydon is still the thriving hub and currently has over 187 traders, from eateries, clothing, music, toys, hairdressers, a cinema and many others. The Main Street has ample parking on and behind the shops.
The Croydon Market Complex as it is now known, has been subject to several development applications including one for a small cinema complex to be built, which did not eventuate. Windsor is bounded by Dandenong Road, St Kilda Road, Williams Road and High Street.
It is often incorrectly referred to as Prahran, Windsor's northern neighbour. In the past, Windsor was within the City of Prahran's boundaries, and many institutions still refer to this.
Windsor was named after Windsor, Berkshire.
Known at first as Prahran South, its name was changed to Windsor in 1891.
Windsor contains a diverse mix of housing including medium density apartments, Victorian terrace housing, hi-rise public housing towers and semi-detached cottages.</p>

The six finalists were selected by judges from 19 nominees who competed in this year's heats.

REIV Senior Auctioneer of the Year finalists are: Daniel Bullen from Philip Webb; last year's winner, Adrian Butera of Compton & Green; Michael Choi from McDonald Real Estate; Harry Li of McDonald Real Estate; Mark Staples from Hocking Stuart in Carnegie; and Matthew Young from Buxton in St. Kilda.

Each participant had to conduct a mock auction dealing with difficult inquiries and competitive bidding from the audience. A house in the mythical suburb of 'Carringbush' was auctioned. 

The mock auction format ensures that the skills and knowledge of each contestant is tested.

The finalists will compete for the title of 2011 REIV Senior Auctioneer of the Year on Wednesday, 13 July at The Arts Centre. The finals will be open to the public to attend.

The winner and runner-up will then represent Victoria in the 20th anniversary NAB Australasian Auctioneer of the Year competition to be held in Melbourne on 19--21 September. 

Victoria is regarded as the auction capital of the nation but our auctioneers have been beaten by contestants from New Zealand and Queensland in recent years.

I use a Canon 60D with a Tokina 11-16mm lens for the up top shots and in the Helicopter and plane. For underwater I used a Sony 3CCD HDV FX1 in the Phenom underwater housing made by Amphibico.

Clips were dumped as is into EDIUS and edited together.
